The Warriors could be a TV series

Just yesterday we were writing about how PlayStation 2 classic The Warriors was back on the PS4, and now there's more news on that aged but somehow still vital property.

The original 1979 movie could gain new life with a potential TV adaptation. Those Captain American making brothers Joe and Anthony Russo are set to work with Parmount TV and Hulu on a one hour drama series based on the film, which has spawned comic books, the game and more - all from a 1965 novel by Sol Yurick.

It's thought the Russos will direct the pilot episode - via Deadline - and beyond that we'll have to wait and see if its considered interesting enough to continue with. There's not a whole heck of a lot of story in the original film but Walter Hill did create a vivid world, and there's always room to add more texture with a number of rival gangs and the intrigue which sets events into motion.

The Russos will soon be busy getting back into Marvel mode for Infinity War parts one and two - set for 2018 and 2019 - so The Warriors will have to come together pretty quickly. More as we get it.
