The event tomorrow in Terenure College, Dublin will feature a display of vehicles from the 1916 era including Sliabh na mBan, the iconic armoured car which accompanied Michael Collins on his fateful journey to Béal na mBláth.

Adult tickets cost €15 while children under 12 pay €5.

2. Immerse yourself in music

Masterclasses, morning talks, evening concerts and coffee concerts are just some of a host of events planned for the West Cork Chamber Music Festival in Bantry Co Cork.

It runs all week and celebrates the music of Beethoven, Bach and Ravel to mark its 21st year.

The festival marks two of the 1916 centenaries with new works by Irish composers.

3. Vroom Vroom

The Waterford Motorcycle Festival kicks off on Friday and runs all day Saturday, promising an extravaganza of music, motorcycles, chrome and leather.

Think oncerts, open air gigs, rideouts, and test rides, along with the famous ‘Boobs & Balls’ charity run in aid of Waterford’s Solas Centre which will be hitting the town centre on Saturday. http://summerval.ie/event/waterford-motorcycle-festival

4. Tea for Two

Griffins of Dripsey, a popular destination for afternoon tea has added Granny Griffins Baby Shower Afternoon Tea parties to its repertoire.

Cakes, scones, bite-size sandwiches and other sweet treats are available to celebrate the mother-to-be and they can cater for coeliacs.

Afternoon tea costs €15 per person and booking is essential on 021 7334600.

5. Fairy Fun

Fairies are magically descending upon Lough Boora Discovery Park in Co Offaly as the park hosts a party tomorrow from 12.30pm to 3.30pm to celebrate the opening of the new Mini-Beast Hotel in Fairy Avenue to raise funds for Barretstown children’s charity.

Pit-stops along the trail will feature fairy themed games, new fairy doors and the wishing seat. www.loughboora.com
