Tried and tested: Clarins eyeshadow palettes

AFTER a hugely- successful relaunch of the Joli Rouge lipsticks, Clarins are hoping for a repeat with the new 4-Colour Eyeshadow palettes, €43.

The three palettes — 01 Nude, 02 Rosewood and 03 Brown — each contains four complementary colours in a mixture of matte and satin finishes.

And with the understated shades, comfortable finish and classic mirrored packaging, this will likely prove a hit with the older beauty lover — as long as they don’t mind a hint of shimmer.

01 Nude has a mix of two peachy natural shades which will bring brightness to the lid with a grey and black for extra definition, while 03 Brown contains four cool muddy-brown tones, perfect for a classic smoky eye.

02 Rosewood is perhaps the most interesting with its stand-out rose gold shade — but with two purple-toned shadows. While perfect for a night out, it may not be ideal for everyday wear.

All colours are buildable — plus, you can wet them to increase intensity, allowing for a variety of looks.

So while these aren’t going to blow anyone away, they’re definitely a solid investment.
