Harbour Festival

Wexford hosts its annual Maritime Festival this weekend, where highlights include a major Search and Rescue display with aircraft, lifeboat, and ambulance crews showcasing their capabilities and skills today.

Fun-day Sunday sees a spectacular stunt show with formations from two RV 7 aircraft, free try-a-dive tomorrow at 4.45pm, and the ever popular Raft Races also take place;

Fairy Fun

Kilflynn Enchanted Fairy Festival which celebrates all things magical for children and adults alike is taking place again in the scenic village of Kilflynn in Co Kerry this weekend.

A magical parade will take place at 7.30pm tonight, with street entertainers and fairies, along with knights and wizards.

Tomorrow from 12pm to 5pm there will be creative workshops, entertainers, and storytellers along with a local food and craft fair to help your picnic plans;

4 Blast off

Budding space enthusiasts can sign up for Space Camp at the Blackrock Observatory in Cork where children will look into how our solar system was created, learning about the mysteries of space, and build their own launch craft for some Eggstronauts.

They run from 9.30am to 12.30pm on July 11-15, or 18-22 for seven- to nine-year-olds or July 15-29 for 10- to 12-year-olds. The camp costs €95 and booking is essential on 021-4326120.

String to their bow

The Cork Youth Orchestra is hosting its Reflections of Ireland concert on Friday at Cork City Hall at 8pm.

The CYO will then travel to Italy and represent Ireland at the European Festival Of Youth Orchestras performing in open air concerts in Florence, Perugia, and Montecatini next week.

Tickets cost €20 and are available from The Everyman, Pro Musica, O’Driscoll’s Ballinlough, or at the door.
