Kid-friendly smartwatch hits Kickstarter goal
The Octopus smartwatch allows parents to schedule reminders for their kids about certain activities like bath time, sports practice, or responsibilities like feeding their pet. It will help kids learn how to tell time with both digital and analog faces. And it can act as an assistant, providing notes and reminders for both kids and parents.
According to the Kickstarter page, the smartwatch is designed to "help children form good habits and help them to take responsibility for their actions."
The Octopus is compatible with Android and iOS smartphones. And two separate smartphones can connect to the watch meaning two guardians can collaborate when programming the watch.
The company behind Octopus hope to ship its first watches in November. Those who have backed the project will be hoping that the team isn't overwhelmed by demand; the Kickstarter has already raised more than six times its goal.
