Galway Film Fleadh 2016 lineup revealed

The Galway Film Fleadh 2016 is almost upon us, and the lineup has been revealed.

The 2016 Fleadh runs from the 5th to the 10th of July and will bring more than 150 films from over 30 countries to the city over a packed week.

16 world premieres will be on hand alongside the best talents from before and behind the camera. Legendary director Jim Sheridan will be chatting (just try to stop him!) and the marvellous Ruth Negga will take part in an acting masterclass. She's going to be even bigger news by this time next year, you just wait and see.

The opening film is Creative Control and there are premieres for Property of the State, A Dark Song and Tiger Raid. The final showing will be Sanctuary which was produced and shot in Galway.

Female filmmakers are to the fore in a special programme of films and the documentary strand includes It is Not Yet Dark, about director Simon Fitzmaurice and Mom & Me from His & Hers helmer Ken Wardrop.
