New Fitbit feature focuses on recovery
While it's important to get your 10,000 steps a day in, rest and recovery is equally important for not only fitness, but general health. Fitbit's latest feature, Sleep Schedule, aims to help you get an adequate amount of quality sleep in every day.
Many of us are capable of getting to bed early one night, but consistency is where things fall apart. That's where this new feature comes in. And that in turn should help people turn it into a habit.
The app will recommend a certain number of hours of sleep as a goal, or you can set one manually. Based on this goal and past sleep behaviour, the app will recommend target bed times and wake up times. It will also send you push notifications to remind you to go to bed, while a silent wake alarm should help you in the morning. And finally, there's a history chart so you can see if you're meeting your goals.
The update is now available on Android, iOS, and Windows. It works across the Fitbit Surge, Fitbit Blaze, Fitbit Charge HR, Fitbit Alta, Fitbit Charge, Fitbit Flex and the Fitbit One.
