Psyonix says EA turned down Rocket League
Taking to Twitter, Davis revealed, "We actually pitched the game to EA Partners in 2011, so I'm not sure what would be different this time around!"
EA’s Executive VP Patrick Söderlund told IGN, "Would I want to be the guy that found Rocket League? Yes. Would I want that to be an EA property? Of course I would like to."
That in itself isn’t all that surprising. Rocket League has racked up sales, and become a hit with competitive and casual players alike. EA is yet to comment on Davis’ statement or reveal why it turned down the opportunity to publish Rocket League before it became a household name.
EA will be hoping that Fe, its first EA Originals game, can hit the mark.
