A group of a dozen comfort dogs and their handlers have travelled from Illinois to Orlando to offer what help they can to all those affected by the shooting.

These dogs have travelled to Orlando to help comfort the victims of the shooting

The dogs come from Lutheran Church Charities, who aim to bring "comfort and compassion for those who are grieving loss and for those who are injured and hospitalized".

And it looks like it’s having an effect.

Since they arrived in Orlando, Gracie, Sasha, Hannah, Jacob and the others have spent time with first responders, attended a vigil and have been welcoming visitors in the city’s Lutheran church.

The dogs are unused to the hot Florida weather but were given bags of ice to nibble on to cool down.

And each of the dogs has their own Facebook page where you can follow what they get up to.

Good dogs.
