Minecraft update lets you play cross-platform

There's a good chance you have friends who play Minecraft. But given how widespread it is, they may not play on the same platform of you. Minecraft Realms means you'll all be able to play together, as it allows players across Xbox One, Windows 10 PC, Android, and iOS to play with each other. An on-stage demo showcased how it'll work and Oculus' John Carmack even popped in with a VR headset to say hello.

The update is called "The Friendly Update" because it's all about playing with friends. The update also brings in dedicated servers across platforms.

Mojang also demoed new content and showed how mods can change the game. They were faced with an alien invasion, but had help from MiB-themed villagers before taking down an alien mothership.
