Nest could have an outdoor security camera

The Nest Cam is a handy camera that's easy to set up and keeps an eye on your home while you're away, you can even use the in built mic and speaker to listen and talk through it, and sync all the video for added security.

One feature it doesn't have is the sturdy build quality for use outside, which is a place where many people would like to use a security camera. But that could be about to change.

Apparently the company is working on a hardy version of the camera which would be able to withstand the elements and be mounted outside your home. The report comes from a letter circulated inside Nest confirming to employees that the company is not up for sale.
