More leaks suggest OS X becoming macOS
A number of recent leaks have suggested that the company could be looking to change the name to macOS in the near future, maybe as soon as their upcoming World Wide Developers Conference which runs from the 13th to the 17th of June, 2016.
The latest leak was spotted by Macrumours and was buried in text about revenue split for apps across various platforms. The original text listed the available platforms as "iOS, macOS, tvOS, and watchOS."
This text was quickly changed to read 'OS X' but obviously it was copied and pasted and spread around the net long before that could happen. The rebrand makes a lot of sense, bringing the naming convention into lne with the rest of the Apple ecosystem, but regular users probably don't care much what their software is called.
Expect more news soon.
