Jon Hamm could be live action Archer

Archer is a comedy animated show about a really terrible (or brilliant) secret agent who kills a lot of people, mostly on purpose.

The show has just finished its seventh season on FX (but you've probably come across it on Netflix) and hasn't yet been picked up for an another go 'round but the powers that be are always happy to talk about a big screen adaptation.

There are no real plans yet but it could emerge as either an animated flick or a live action version, and exec producer Matt Thompson knows exactly who they want to play Archer if it does happen.

“It’s Jon Hamm. If Archer goes live-action, I do believe it will be Jon Hamm. Maybe you could do it with Jon Benjamin’s voice coming out of him? I don’t know. Adam is always like, ‘I don’t know if I want the movie to be live-action because I want it to be Jon Benjamin!’ But if it is live-action—and if it is not Jon Benjamin—it is our greatest hope that it would be Jon Hamm. I can say that with confidence.”

H. Jon Benjamin is the current voice artist for Archer and he's perfect in the role. However, let's just say that he doesn't exactly look like the super suave secret agent...

Hamm looks a bit more like the character certainly (though he's probably already a little old for the part) but without that voice it just seems like it wouldn't really be Archer. We're voting for an animated take, if it ever happens.
