Dublin girl uses Communion money to buy food for the homeless

Communion money can be a bit of a contentious issue - how much to give, how much should the little one get to keep and spend and what to save.

But this little girl had a different approach - she decided to use it to buy food and give it to some people who are homeless.

Niamh Bligh from Dublin shared photos of her daughter, Eve, on Facebook as they set out to share sandwiches, fruit and drinks bought by her Communion money with those living on the streets.

Understandably, Niamh was very proud of her daughter’s kind gesture.

She writes:

"Very proud mammy today as I helped this young lady use communion money to make rolls, buy crisps, bars, fruit and water and walked around town as she approached homeless people and asked if they’d like something to eat...I rarely cry but the tears of pride were streaming down my face

"She is so proud of herself and I think she’s gonna make it a regular thing....you go girl, mad proud."

The pair’s good deed has been shared widely on Facebook so hopefully, it will inspire others to do what they can.

Well done, Eve!
