Overwatch blog drops hints about a new character

Blizzard released a blog post talking about the resurgence of Overwatch and what its various members have been doing. Interestingly, it mentions a character that isn’t currently featured in the game.

The blog mentions Liao, who is supposedly one of the founding members of Overwatch. Liao could be a brand new character. However, some fans have theorised that Liao is connected to Mei-Ling, who does feature in the game.

Blizzard is yet to share too much about the backstory of Mei-Ling, so that possibility can’t be ruled out.

Perhaps we’ll find out more about Liao in the run up to the game’s first patch, which will be released in June. This patch will, at the very least, introduce ranked matches.
