Show goes on:  Every summer for the past 200 years, the Munster Agricultural Society has held the Cork Summer Show.

Online and in the shops...

It’s a family-friendly mix of agriculture, food, music, gardening, crafts and entertainment.

It is one of the largest events of its kind in Ireland, and attracted 50,000 visitors in 2015.

This year’s show will take place on June 18 and 19, at the Showgrounds in Curraheen.

Flying colours: Since American paint brand, Benjamin Moore, arrived in Ireland this year, its award-winning Natura range has become a favourite with customers, according to stockists, MRCB Paints & Papers, in Dublin.

Certified by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, Natura is a low-odour paint with zero VOCs.

Going green doesn’t mean giving up on decorating options, either — there’s a wide selection of colours and finishes, including flat, eggshell, and semi-gloss, from €34.86 per litre; www.mrcb.ie

Clean living: Though we all know that life changes when you become a parent, a survey by household cleaning brands, Dettol and Vanish, found that two-thirds of us were surprised by the amount of cleaning and laundry that come with a new addition to the family.

With food stains, nappy leaks, and spills, more than half (56%) of parents surveyed said that at least six loads of laundry per week was the norm, while 68% worried about hygiene and keeping surfaces clean.

Dettol’s Disinfectant Spray, €4.95, can be used to spray down both hard and soft surfaces, including buggies, changing mats, and toys.

Adding Dettol’s anti-bacterial laundry cleanser, €6.29, to the wash can kill bacteria and viruses at lower temperatures.

Dettol also recommend that you run your machine on a hot wash of 90°C, once a week.

Sight for sore eyes: If your eyes feel dry, tired, and irritated, from working on a computer, or if you suffer from hayfever, A.Vogel eye drops may provide some natural relief.

These drops contain hyaluronic acid and Euphrasia to help to soothe and moisturise eyes, and can be used while you are wearing contact lenses.

The drops are suitable for children over three years of age and are safe to use during pregnancy: €13.60 from health stores and pharmacies; www.avogel.ie
