00's kids take a look at 90's money and they are amazed and appalled
Firstly the smell. Apparently old money really smells.
Secondly, the value of old money, there was a lot of confusion around what old coins could have bought you when they were a valid currency.
Finally, the size. Children of the euro cannot understand why coins were so big.
Of course the comments are golden.
"It looks like fake coins that you would get on a treasure hunt or something."
Apparently you could buy three lollipops or a block of butter with a 20p coin and 50p could buy you a pencil or half a pack of gum while more optimistic children thought you could get a doll or a lump of bread.
The coins smells raised some concern among the children who said it smells ’like a dirty shopkeepers tray."
"It smells like lots of people’s germs all over it."
The punt caused even more confusion with one child claiming you could buy two couches with "one euro" (She meant pound).
Another child though you could buy two x-boxes while another seemed adamant you would have the price of 12 lollipops with a pound.
One child lost the run of himself entirely thinking you could buy a gun, a house a bank with a pound, if only.
The video finishes on an accidental philosophical discussion about whether or not you need money to be happy with one child deciding you don’t and another child, fairly certain you do…
