The Beauty and the Beast live action trailer arrives today

The success of Disney's live action Cinderella and The Jungle Book for the big screen has started a new trend at the house of mouse - remaking its classic animated films with real actors and stuff.

We're going to be getting a whole mess of them over the next few years, including 101 Dalmatians, Peter Pan (again!) and Pinocchio. But one that's even closer is a new take on the peerless Beauty and the Beast.

It's a bit of a strange choice given that the original is still relatively recent (especially compared to the rest of the list) and also due to the fact that the 1991 feature is practically perfect in every way, becoming the first animated film to be nominated for Best Film at the Academy Awards.
