The influence of Cezanne can be clearly seen in Roderic O’Conor’s Still Life with Apples on a White Cloth. 

Irish art the subject of Dublin sales

It comes up at de Vere’s Irish art auction at the Royal College of Physicians, Kildare St, Dublin next Wednesday (May 25) at 6 pm.

It was painted in Paris in the mid 1920s and is estimated at €50,000-€70,000.

This auction kicks-off a season of Dublin art sales, at Whyte’s and James Adam selling over the following week.

De Vere’s have an auction with 150 lots of quality paintings and sculpture which is on view from today at their gallery on Kildare St.

There is work by Jack Yeats, Mary Swanzy, John Shinnors, Patrick Scott, Martin Gale, Hughie O’Donoghue, Donald Teskey, Sean McSweeney and the late Basil Blackshaw.
