Woman’s hilarious reaction to new Star Wars mask creates Facebook history

A viral video has earned a Texas woman a pile of free toys for her kids.

Candace Payne has endeared herself to the world after she filmed herself laughing uncontrollably after putting on a new Chewbacca mask she’d just bought.

The video was viewed more than 90m times since Candace posted it on Thursday evening and led to a surge in sales of the mask in the US.

In fact Candace’s clip has created history as it’s now the most watched Facebook live-stream of all time.

It seems Candace’s genuine excitement at her new toy - along with her booming laugh - won the hearts of the watching public.

In a happy ending, the Kohl’s store - where she bought the mask - has delivered a stash of Star Wars goodies for Candace and her kids.

Speaking on Facebook about the popularity of her video, Candace described the whole event as "a whirlwind" and said she was a "overwhelmed with gratitude" at the kind comments she’d received.

"Today has been a whirlwind. I’m grateful for every kind word and comment even if I haven’t replied," said Candace.

"Overwhelmed with gratitude. Let’s keep belly laughing again and again.

"Never imagined finding my ’simple joy’ would land me more views on a little FB video than Mark Zuckerberg has followers. INSANE!"
