Peterson, who features on the Animal Planet channel, was filming in the jungle at night in the Osa Peninsula looking for reptiles and amphibians to feature on his Brave Wilderness YouTube show when a wild Ocelot showed up.
Ocelots, which are often called dwarf leopards, are wild cats that can be found in Central and South America as well some Caribbean islands. Their fur looks similar to that of a jaguar or a clouded leopard and they are known to fight to the death in certain territorial disputes.
Luckily for Peterson this young ocelot was only interested in play time as she spent over three hours following the crew around the rainforest - evening purring as she has her belly rubbed.
The adventurer goes as far as calling it "probably the most unique thing" he’s ever done with an animal.
Isn’t she beautiful?
If you’re ever in ocelot territory be careful though as Peterson says they can be "lethal" when they are fully grown.
