It just looks altogether gorgeous, anchored by a real life performance by young Ruby Barnhill and some marvellous motion capture work by Mark Rylance, who picked up an Oscar for his previous teamup with Spielberg Bridge of Spies.
The story of dreams and giants and snozzcumbers just had its world premiere at Cannes 2016 and early reports have been fairly positive, with the movie aimed mostly at a younger audience. That makes perfect sense given the source material and we're looking forward to seeing those effects in person.
Jemaine Clement, Bill Hader, Rafe Spall and Rebecca Hall also feature in the film, which is in cinemas in Ireland from the 22nd of July, 2016.
