The Jungle Book is Ireland's biggest film of 2016
The film has earned a massive €3.8 million in Ireland since its release back in mid April and has managed to be a serious hit with kids and grownups alike. That puts it ahead of box office heavyweights like Batman v Superman and Deadpool for this year.
Around the world, The Jungle Book has earned over $828 (€730) million to become one of the biggest films of the year, and part of a marquee season for Disney as they smash earning records.
The film features the voices of Bill Murray and Idris Elba and retells Rudyard Kiplings classic story for a whole new generation. It's the latest in several remakes of classic Disney animations in the works, including Beauty and the Beast, Cruella and Pete's Dragon (which OK was partly live action in the first place).
The Jungle Book is still in cinemas across Ireland.
