Dark Souls board game Kickstarter raises almost €5 million
The Kickstarter for the Dark Souls board game has concluded with almost €5 million raised. If you missed out and want to get your hands on a copy of the game, it’s still possible to make a late pledge, which means this tally could rise further.
Initially, the project sought around €60,000 and snapped that up in a matter of hours. Not only did it reach its goal quickly, but it hit every initial stretch goal set out within its first day too. In the end, backers unlocked a variety of expansions as well as a summoned model, Solaire of Astora.
The board game is designed to be played by 1-4 players. They choose from a variety of classes before setting out to explore a number of dangerous locations populated by dangerous foes, treasures, and boss encounters. The designer says that it “delivers an experience that captures the very essence of the original video games.”
Delivery is expected in April, 2017. You can get an idea of how the game plays in the video below.
