BBC launching Netflix rival
It's a highly competitive space, with the likes of Amazon and Hulu also vying for a piece of the pie, and it seems the BBC thinks there might be a slice or two left.
The British government has just given the BBC the go ahead to develop a subscription streaming service, in this case in collaboration with ITV. It's thought it would be part of the existing BBC iPlayer framework, offering programmes after their initial free 30 day period for a monthly fee.
