Garmin's new Vivosmart adds GPS tracking - watches you from the skies
The new Vivosmart HR+ looks exactly like the previous model - the Vivosmart HR, at least on the outside. There's a small touchscreen and a button on the band and it measure your heartrate and keeps up with everything you are doing.
The big difference is inside, or rather many miles above in geosynchronous orbit because this band uses GPS to track your movements in a much more detailed way than other methods. You'll be able to see your exact route, time and your speed throughout, which is ideal when you're training for an event.
You also get some basic smartphone notifications on the screen as well as keeping an eye on every metric you could possibly want. Battery life does take a hit with GPS though - you'll get 8 hours of use with it enabled, and closer to give days without.
The Garmin Vivosmart HR+ is out now for around €200.
