Weather reporter told to cover up with cardigan on live TV

Liberté Chan, a meteorolgist and reporter, was midway through a weather report on LA station KTLA when someone standing off camera handed her a cardigan and asked her to put it on.
At first, Chan was confused asking:
’What’s going on? You want me to put this on? Why? Cause it’s cold?’
But it turned out some viewers had taken issue with her black sparkly dress,
Watch the bizarre moment here:
After the show, Liberté went throught some of the emails the station had received while she was on air:
’Looks like she stayed out late at a party and came to work in the same dress. Not appropriate for the morning weather report’.
And the incident sparked a furious debate on the station’s social media over whether her dress was unprofessional.
it's a place of work. Not a cocktail lounge. Unprofessional

But others were more annoyed with how the producers handled the situation, calling them unprofessional for interrupting her on live TV.
Whoa. @KTLA! I didn't like the dress either, but you didn't have to make her cover up - ON AIR - like that. How embarrassing.

What do you think?
One thing is for sure - Jean Byrne wouldn’t have stood for it.
