No stranger to Ireland, the film series previously shot the closing scenes of Star Wars: The Force Awakens on Skellig Michael off the coast of Kerry.

Speaking about the upcoming filming, Jim Mullin of Malin Head Community Association told RTÉ it’s been “incredible”.

“In the last few weeks, it’s incredible, the amount of traffic on the road coming here, up to the most northerly point in Ireland, just to see where it’s being made,” he said.

“We can only imagine what it will be like once they start filming here.”

According to reports, nearly 300 members of the cast, crew and film support staff are expected to hit Malin Head this weekend.

Donegal County Council has confirmed that the roads along the Malin Head loop will be closed 8am-9pm from this Friday until Sunday.
