A question of taste - Sinéad Ní Uallacháin

In her spare time, she likes to act and is involved with a few drama groups in both Dublin and Kerry.
I’m really enjoying dipping in and out of Kerry poet, Ailbhe Ní Ghearbhuigh’s latest poetry collection, Tost agus Allagar. I was at the Dublin launch of the collection, in Club Chonradh na Gaeilge, recently, and heard Ailbhe herself recite some of her compositions. My personal favourite would have to be ‘Nithe Ceilte’, a poem about her encounter with a deli worker in West Harlem.
I shed a few tears when I saw Brooklyn, not so long ago, which is always a good sign. However, I’m not sure if it was entirely because of the film, or if I was spurred on by the woman who was sitting next to me, blubbering throughout.
The inaugural Nós Music Awards took place in the Sugar Club in January for contemporary Irish language acts. It was one of the best gigs I’ve been to in a long time! I’m also really looking forward to Ravelóid, this summer — a festival that will celebrate today’s Irish language culture. Bring it on!
I’m pretty old-school. I love CDs and especially all the information, pictures and lyrics, etc, in the sleeve notes.
I’m listening to ‘Cucanandy’, (from The Gloaming’s latest album), on repeat for the past few days.
My favourite film, for a long time, was A League of Their Own, with Geena Davis, Rosie O’Donnell, Madonna and Tom Hanks. I saw it recently again — I know, I don’t know what I was thinking, either!
I saw the Broadway production of The Curious Incident of Dog in the Night-time last summer. I’m still thinking about it.
I love watching the soaps, especially Eastenders. I quite like quiz shows, as well — reruns of The Weakest Link, or Catchphrase, are right up my street. Keith Lemon’s shows are great, also.
Cormac ag a Cúig, RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta, and The John Creedon Show on RTÉ Radio 1!
Helen Ní Shé, Graham Norton, and Holly Willoughby.
I met Don Conroy on Ventry beach, when I was about 12. I don’t think I’ve been as excited to meet anyone since.

A bridesmaids dress for my sister’s wedding, last year. It wasn’t OTT crazy expensive, but I suppose I don’t spend that much money on clothes, in general.
Twitter, Facebook and Instagram for keeping in touch / networking. I like buying and selling on Depop, also.
My Mam and Dad,
Three-day weekends.
