One of the most integral parts of being a politician is getting out into the community and meeting people - and we imagine you see all sorts.

Darren O Rourke, a Sinn Féin Councillor from Meath, posted this photo of a sort of shrine to Sinn Féin he and his partner came across in an elderly lady’s home.

He writes on Facebook:

"Myself and Maria have been helping a lovely 75 year old Latvian lady in Phibsborough for the past year or two. We haven’t the heart to tell her that we have a problem with her shrine."

So there’s Mary Lou, Darren, and - oh.
