This year the exhibition will mark a centenary of Irish literature. Among the diverse range of nearly 300 works by 80 artists are paintings inspired by Irish poets and writers.
Some non-member artists have been invited to participate this year.

High Grasses by Norah McGuinness was the top lot at Dolan’s sale at Kelly’s Hotel in Rosslare last Sunday. It made 9,000 in a vibrant auction which saw plenty of viewers and much competitive bidding. More than 85% of lots on offers found buyers.
The Old Rectory at Monasterevin in Co Kildare is to be the venue for an on site house contents auction at 1 pm next Tuesday. Ashgrove Auctioneers will hold viewings from 2 pm to 6 pm today and tomorrow, from noon to 4 pm on Monday and from 10 am on Tuesday.
Cork Potters’ Synergy is an exhibition underway at Gallery Zozimus on Francis St., Dublin. It features work by 14 artists and runs until May 21.
A pair of gilt framed 19th century oil paintings in ornate gilt frames made €2,300 at Hegarty’s sale in Bandon last Sunday.
A set of 10 Irish silver spoons sold for €2,050, a glazed breakfront library bookcase made €2,100. A Regency Cork linen press made €1,950 and a William IV console table made €1,650.
