Insomnia Gaming festival coming to Ireland this summer
From June 10 to 13, the INEC in Killarney will be taken over by gamers, young and old. Over the course of the weekend, there will be gaming tournaments, stage shows, demos, and opportunities to engage in retail therapy.
The Minecraft Zone is likely to be one of the main attractions. It will feature tournaments, merchandise stands, and the chance to hear from some special guests from the world of Minecraft.
YouTubers Amy Lee, Choochoosgaming, Ashdubh, Nettyplays, Inthelittlewood, Mini Muka, Gassy Mexican and Terroriser have been lined up to attend the festival. They will form part of the line-up of interactive stage shows and special guest areas.
Attendees can also bring their own gaming setup to the Bring Your Own Computer area, which will accommodate 250 players. Over LAN, attendees will be able to play a range of popular competitive games with tournaments planned for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Rocket League, League of Legends and Hearthstone.
Insomnia Ireland is hosted by Multiplay, organisers of the UK’s largest gaming festival, Insomnia. Founder and CEO of Multiplay, Craig Fletcher, said, ““Insomnia Ireland is a place for gamers of all backgrounds to congregate, socialise, discover new things and ultimately just play. Our Exhibition/Retail Zones will contain a variety of feature zones and games for all ages. These include a Minecraft Zone, Indie Zone, Retro Zone an Over 18s area, Main Stage, where special guests will be playing the latest games as well as Panel Talks and Q&A sessions.”
