VIDEO: The Nice Guys retro trailer still looks great

Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling are teaming up for a buddy comedy effort from the writer of Lethal Weapon and the director of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.

It already sounds great right? Well here's a retro trailer with some extra 70s swagger.

That retro filter is happening because the movie is set in the 70s and sees a pretty hapless private detective (that's Gosling) forced to team up with an enforcer (Crowe) to try to find a missing girl. It's going to get a little weird and twisty, definitely more like Kiss Kiss Bang Bang than Iron Man 3, and there will be a lot of laughs along the way.

Writer/director Shane Black has a couple of great leading men here, especially as Gosling realises more and more he has a talent for comedy. Crowe is the perfect straight man and we're expecting great things from this picture.

The Nice Guys is set for release in May 2016.
