The Punisher is getting a Netflix series

The Punisher is getting a Netflix series of his very own with Jon Bernthal reprising his role after an impressive performance in Daredevil.

The Punisher was one of the standout characters of the second season of Daredevil and Netflix appears eager to take advantage of fans' interest in the anti-hero. Netflix has ordered a series based on The Punisher and released a teaser image for it.

Jon Bernthal reprises his role as the titular character, a.k.a. Frank Castle. Executive Producer/Head of Marvel Television, Jeph Loeb, said, "We want to thank the fans who are clamoring for more of Jon’s stunning and powerful performance as Frank Castle from Marvel’s Daredevil."

Netflix Vice President of Original Content, Cindy Holland, also praised Jon's portrayal of the character. “Jon hooked our global audience with his performance as Frank Castle from the moment he stepped on screen in Marvel’s Daredevil, and we are looking forward to seeing more of him in this role under the vision of Steve Lightfoot," she said.

Expect more bullets and blood when The Punisher roams the streets of Hell's Kitchen once again.
