YouTube to display short unskippable ads

Google has announced plans to introduce short Bumper ads before YouTube videos.

These short, unskippable ads will be featured before videos that you watch on your smartphone or tablet. Google Product Manager Zach Lupei calls these Bumper ads "little haikus of video ads."

YouTube has managed to get brands like Audi Germany and Atlantic Records on board. These brands are already trying out the new format. The example below was posted in September, so the format may have evolved since.

These Bumper ads will start appearing alongside videos from May.
