The title of Róisín Murphy’s forthcoming new album may be familiar to you. Take Her Up To Monto gets its name from the song popularised by The Dubliners, though it was written in 1958 by the wonderful George Desmond Hodnett. Murphy loves the song because her father used to sing it, but she has resisted the temptation to cover Monto on the album. We won’t get the record in full until July 8, a week before her appearance at Longitude in Dublin.
