Song of the Deep game inspired by Irish myths and scheduled for release this summer

Insomniac Games, the developers of blockbuster titles like Ratchet & Clank, have signed a new deal with Gamestop to release smaller scale fare, and the first game is almost here.

Song of the Deep game inspired by Irish myths and scheduled for release this summer

Song of the Deep is a gorgeous looking game that sees a 12 year old girl who constructs a submarine to go looking for her lost father at the bottom of ths sea. It's a side scroller in form and did we mention how pretty it looks?

It's pretty unusual to have an Irish character at the heart of a game story, and even less so one who doesn't have a terrible accent. The tale was inspired by Irish myths and legends and we have to admit it shares a little bit of its look and feel with recent feature Song of the Sea. Not to mention its title.

It has just been announced that Song of the Deep will be coming out on the 12th of July, 2016 on PS4, Xbox One and PC. A boxed version is also planned, exclusively at Gamestop.
