Elizabeth has a rather unusual belief as to why she has lived so long.

Amazingly, the pensioner guzzles three Dr Pepper soft drinks a day and has even become best friends with a rep for Dr Pepper named Kurt Conger. Kurt even brings Elizabeth to some Texas games with him and when she gets tired, no matter how tight the game, he brings her back home.

She says doctors advised her to quit Dr Pepper years ago, however she says those doctors are all dead now, so she was right.

Elizabeth was born in 1911, a whopping 50 years before her beloved Texas Rangers even came into existence.

The team invited Elizabeth to throw out the first pitch yesterday and she managed it in fine style, even receiving a huge cheer from the crowd.

She couldn’t help the Rangers get a win though as they lost 9-5, but we bet she had a lovely day out.
