Gambit movie delayed - to the surprise of no one

Those X-Men spin offs don't seem to have any luck. A whole series of them were planned before X-Men Origins Wolverine tanked and while Deadpool has been a big success it exists in its own unique space.

The only other project which was close to being made was a film based on the character of Gambit, with Channing Tatum set to take on the starring role. And now that has also ground to a halt. The latest news is that the film is going in for yet another rewrite, this time courtesy of Red Carolin, who also worked with Tatum on Magic Mike.

While that project ticks over, director Doug Liman will skip out to helm The Wall, which is a small scale psychological thriller that will be the first original movie to come from Amazon. It certainly sounds different to his recent projects like Edge of Tomorrow but Liman is a talented filmmaker (with the right script) and we're looking forward to seeing the result.
