VIDEO: See Daisy Ridleys intense audition for Star Wars

Daisy Ridley was one of the stand out finds of Star Wars the Force Awakens and you can see how it all happened here

Star Wars the Force Awakens is on home video soon and apart from getting to see the film again we're really looking forward to diving into the extensive behind the scenes extras to find out what it took to bring this galaxy far, far away to the big screen again.

One of the biggest discoveries of the new film, apart from BB-8, was undoubtedly English actress Daisy Ridley. The 23 year old actress has appeared on a handful of local TV shows and a single feature before being cast as Rey, making her performance all the more impressive. Director J.J. Abrams knew he had found the right person for the job during the intense audition, which used the an interrogation scene from the script.

You can catch a glimpse of this moment in a clip from the making of documentary over on Buzzfeed, complete with comments from Abrams and behind the scenes shots. It's also a great way of seeing just how ordinary the locations are for these life changing moments in a young stars life.

Ridley is currently filming Star Wars Episode VIII, with some scenes set to be shot in Ireland during May 2016. She's also now in the running to take on the role of Lara Croft in a rebooted take on the Tomb Raider series.

The Force Awakens is on DVD and blu-ray in Ireland on the 15th of April 2016.
