Peter Serafinowicz will be The Tick
We previously heard that the main parts are going to be recast and the lead has been announced - it's British actor Peter Serafinowicz!
We're still gutted that Patrick Warburton isn't back in the muscly blue suit but Serafinowicz is a reasonable replacement. He doesn't have quite the same memorably voice as Warburton but his pipes are still impressive, he provided all the spoken dialogue for Darth Maul in The Phantom Menace in case you didn't know. No reason has been given for the re-casting - though the Brit is a bit younger at 43 than Warburton's 51. Neither of them are exactly the kinds of big names you'd expect to launch a series, though Serafinowicz has recently appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy and Spy.
The casting news comes from Deadline, where it is also confirmed the story will see The Tick recovering from memory loss and reteaming with sidekick Arthur, played in this new version by Griffin Newman. With these pieces in place, we wouldn't be surprised to see the pilot apper before the end of the year on Amazon - but that's no guarantee of a full series order.
