Better Call Saul will be back for season 3

Better Call Saul has been a hugely welcome surprise so far, mostly ignoring the show which spawned it (Breaking Bad in case you didn't know) and forging its own path as a unique, funny, dramatic and excessively weird character piece.

Better Call Saul will be back for season 3

It's all about witnessing the evolution of a hustler named Jimmy McGill into a... more successful hustler named Saul Goodman who eventually meets a fellow named Walter White before things get seriously intense. This younger version of Saul, played brilliantly by Bob Odenkirk, has plenty of depth to carry his own series and the supporting players and story have been a delight to discover, all but free of the trappings of making connections to the original show.

And thankfully this journey is set to continue for a while yet. As the second series hits the mid point of its run, AMC has confirmed that Better Call Saul will be back for a third season, likely premiering in 2017. The main cast is back, as are showrunners Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould. It's not massively surprising but it is great to see support for a rather more slow paced and character driven show, without the need for anything too flashy. And we can't wait to see where the story goes from here.
