Watch this car smash through an electricity pole into a bus

A video of a car veering onto the wrong side of the road and smashing through an electricity pole and crashing into a bus has been put on YouTube.

The incident occurred in Albuquerque, New Mexico and was caught on the Bus CCTV system.

Passengers inside the bus were also filmed as they braced themselves for the impact of the car hitting the bus.

On the pavement a man waiting at a bus stop ran for his life as the car headed towards him.

Passengers on the bus helped the driver of the car to get out the car as they were worried the electricity line, attached to the pole, would fall on him.

The driver told police he did not remember crossing the road or crashing into the pole.

He told officers, he blacked out.

Apparently the man took medicine for a cold earlier that day, but can think of nothing else that would contribute to a black-out.

The man was not charged in relation to the incident and it is not known if he was injured.
