Wolfe Tone’s fireplace and fine art for sale in Castlecomer

Wolfe Tone’s fireplace is a feature of Fonsie Mealy’s Chatsworth spring fine art sale in Castlecomer .

The 18th century Carrara marble chimney piece was rescued from the front drawing room at Wolfe Tone’s house at 44 Stafford St Dublin, around 1960 by the present owner.

It is estimated at €15,000-€20,000. The grate in the image is from Elizabeth Bowen’s bedroom at Bowen’s Court in Co Cork.
