Watch as an e-cigarette battery appears to explode in man’s pocket

Security cameras at a store in the US have caught the horrific moment an e-cigarette battery seems to explode in a man’s pocket.

As Josh Hamilton, from Owensboro, Kentucky, was paying for his items and you can clearly see his pants burst into flames on the CCTV footage.

Store clerks were initially so frightened by the incident they believed Hamilton had a bomb in his pocket. However, Josh claims the explosion was caused by a spare e-cigarette battery.

Josh suffered third degree burns, but it could have been much worse if fellow shoppers and store clerks hadn’t sprung immediately to his aid.

After being taken to hospital by one of the customers, Josh posted a graphic photo of his injuries on his Facebook wall.

He also thanked people for their concern saying: "Thanks for all the get well wishes everyone!

"P.S all who Vape, I am not the bad guy here."
