WITH everything from Cork silver spoons to netsuke to bog oak sculpture, the Cork National Antiques Art and Vintage Fair at the Clayton Silver Springs Hotel over two days next weekend, promises to be a big draw.

Fair dates are February 6 and 7 and there will be a comprehensive lists of dealers in attendance from right around Ireland.

Organiser Robin O’Donnell of Hibernian Antique Fairs said that this year there will be a focus on antique furniture from dealers north and south of the border. Antique furniture remains particularly good value right now, so this is a very good time either to begin or to develop an existing collection.

Furniture dealers present will include Greene’s Antiques, Drogheda; William Hartnett, Limerick; Black Horse Antiques of Milltown, Co Kerry; Castle Antiques, Buttevant; Bridgend Antiques, Belfast; Colman O’Kelly, Co Limerick and Donegal Antiques.

Several of those dealers are members of the Irish Antique Dealers Association.

Jewellery and silver design dealers will include Marie Curran, Dublin; Ignatius Buckley, Cork; Des Gallagher, Belfast; Sandra Hogan, Cork; Maureen Kiely, Co Laois; Clanrye Antiques, Co Down; Adam Graham, Co Clare and Renu Walsh of Co Galway.

Coin and banknote dealer Richard Walshe, back from the Miami Fair, will attend along with other specialists including Michael Cooley, Co Laois; Eddie McMahon, Co Clare; Louis Walsh, Athlone and Eileen McCarthy of Co Waterford.

“Treasures Irish Art” of Athlone will bring a collection including work by the ever popular Mark O’Neill and “Buy Art, Sell Art” of Co Waterford will display its mix in Cork for the first time.
