Last week the US was battered by Storm Jonas, which brought blizzards and thundersnow to the east coast.

Ireland felt the tail end of the storm yesterday, but managed to escape the heavy blanketing of snow the US suffered.

In Washington they have huge piece of machinery, which resembles a combine harvester, to deal with the massive snow pile-up on the street and it is oddly fascinating to see it in full flow.

Admit it! You wanted to see it hit the big pile of snow too.
