Cork’s Red FM have been hosting a series of bizarre and public challenges for contestants in order to compete in a €25,000 wedding competition at this Sunday’s Wedding Journal Show at the Silver Springs Convention Centre.

The prize breaks down as €8,000 for the reception, €6,000 for the honeymoon, a wedding dress worth €3,000, €2,000 on groom’s wear and another €3,000 for wedding rings.

Contestants have had to undertake tasks like stripping in Patrick’s Street, sitting in a paddling pool of baked beans for an hour and even walking around wearing a sign reading, "I am single and desperately seeking a husband".

Today was the last day of qualifying and it’s fair to say things went to the extreme as Jackie got ’Red FM’, as well her daughter Rachel and future son-in-law Patrick, tattooed on her upper back having previously promised to do so.

Having seen the pictures on Red FM’s Facebook page we had one question, was the tattoo real?

Breakingnews.ie contacted Red FM to ask them if it was truly permanent and the response from a spokeswoman was, "Yes it is. It’s 100% real."

The tattoo, which was Jackie’s own idea, was done in Tattoo Zoo on Cork’s South Main Street. Jackie says her ink is "absolutely fabulous" and that she’s "delighted with it".

The winner of the competition will be announced on Sunday at the wedding show.

We have a sneaking suspicion Jackie might just be a front runner.
