Heart Children Ireland is a small charity which has raised over €2.5 million for the Cardiac Unit in Crumlin over the past 25 years.
“They purchased the first ECMO (life support machine) for Crumlin, and they funded the very first clinical nurse specialist to support families while a child is staying in hospital,” said HCI volunteer Aoife O’Driscoll, who has organised a fundraising calendar and family planner for the third year running.
