VIDEO: The Christmas 2015 homecoming videos have begun

It’s one of our favourite part of the festive periods - surprise homecomings and ecstatic mammies.

John McAleenan from Rostrevor got the ball rolling when he decided to surprise his mam on Sunday morning.

John is based in New York and his mother didn’t know he was making the trek home.

Cue delighted screams and tears.

John wrote that it was "probably one of the best things I’ve ever done, so glad to be home after a year".
